Description:
The Blacksburg Striders and Runabout Sports present the 2024 Blacksburg Classic 10 Miler & 5K on Saturday, February 10, 2024 starting and ending at Margaret Beeks Elementary School with both races starting at 1:00 PM.

Join the fun at the 39th year of the Blacksburg Classic 10 Miler & 5K, the first event of the RunAbout Sports 2024 Race Series. Both races start at Margaret Beeks Elementary School and feature a course that runs briefly through the Miller Southside Neighborhood before hitting the popular Huckleberry Trail. Don’t miss the opportunity to experience one of the New River Valley’s "classic" running events while also making progress on your fitness goals for 2024.

The 10 Miler is $37.00 plus a $3.22 signup fee for those registered by Saturday, January 27th. After that date, the cost increases to $45.00 plus the signup fee.

The 5K is $27.00 plus a $2.62 signup fee for those registered by Saturday, January 27th. After that date, the cost increases to $35.00 plus the signup fee.

All 10 Miler finishers receive a medal. Long sleeve shirts will be provided to 5K and 10-Mile runners who register before Wednesday, January 31st.

Packet pickup will on Friday, February 9th at RunAbout Sports from 3:00-7:00 PM and on race day at Margaret Beeks Elementary School from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM.

The Blacksburg Striders running club provides community involvement and camaraderie for local runners to enjoy group events, races, social activities and community service in the context of our sport.

The Blacksburg Striders began in 1980 as the Virginia Tech Striders. Though the name has changed, our purpose remains the same.
