Calfee Community & Cultural Center presents a Benefit Gala titled "Let's Paint the Town Red!" on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Omni Place Event Center.
Let's Paint the Town Red! Join us for a fundraising gala to benefit Calfee Community & Cultural Center. Featuring speaker Leon Russell, chairman of the National Board of Directors for NAACP.
Dance to live music from Added Value (Glen Holmes and Denise Smith). Enjoy a buffet dinner and hors d'oeuvres by Bella Events Catering. Bid on unique items including original artwork, gift certificates, and experiences in our silent auction, raffle and more!
Come have a great evening with us and support our efforts to renovate the historic Calfee Training School as a community and cultural center that will meet vital needs in our community today, including childcare, food security, workforce development, after-school programs, natural outdoor spaces, and preservation of local African American history.
Admission includes one free drink for those ages 21 & up and one free raffle ticket.

From 1894 to 1966, the Calfee Training School educated African American children in Pulaski, VA. Faced with severe underfunding from Jim Crow segregation, the Calfee Training School became a community, helping children and their families reach their full potential.
The Omni Place Event Center is located at 7331-B Lee Highway in Fairlawn, VA.
