Description:
The Jessie Peterman Library presents the program "No Means Know - Self Defense" on Saturday, February 17, 2024.
What would you do if you were attacked? Grabbed? Choked? Given the statistics in society, everyone should know how to defend themselves. One in four women will be a victim of domestic violence and more than two-thirds of all victims know their attacker.
Self defense instructor and Floyd resident, Lisa Crowell will teach you how to stop an attacker, escape, and survive a physical assault. You will be very physically active during this class learning how to fall and how to get up safely, as well as specific techniques to fight back. This class will also provide you with confidence and verbal skills that could prevent an attack from happening.
This class is for ages 18 and up.
Wear comfortable clothing: tennis shoes, t-shirt, sweat pants, etc. No experience necessary, all physical fitness levels welcome; come and learn basic self defense skills!
The Jessie Peterman Library is located at 321 West Main Street in Floyd, VA.
