Radford University's College of Visual and Performing Arts presents the play "The Aliens" with five performances starting on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 through Sunday, February 18, 2024 inside Bondurant Auditorium located within Preston Hall on the campus of Radford University.

Performance Schedule:

Two 30-somethings loiter in back of a Vermont coffee shop. Among the dead plants, milk crates, and cigarette butts, they muse on poetry, their long-defunct rock band, and their broken dreams. When a lonely high schooler happens on their world, they seize the opportunity to teach the boy everything they know about life. Annie Baker’s quiet play of friendship, art, love, and death is a powerful and empathetic look at a disaffected generation, echoing the alienation all of us feel at one time or another.

"The Aliens" is about identity and the decisions people make when they are young. Its sparce, three-character design allows a thoughtful exploration of that. The play focuses on Evan, a 17-year-old coffee shop employee, who wants to break out of his boxed in life, but is unsure how. His life starts to change when he meets Jasper and KJ, two thirty-something regulars, behind the shop.

All tickets are free and may be picked up at the door or at the box office in 240 Walker Hall.
