The Jessie Peterman Library presents the program "Floyd County and the African-American Residents who Helped Shape the County" on Sunday, February 25, 2024.
Gino Williams, from the Floyd County Historical Society, will lead this discussion. We will hear from some of the prominent African-American residents that helped shape our county's history.
He will talk about the legal history leading up to the Floyd integration case and former Head Coach Winfred Beale will talk about the process from his perspective as a student and as a child of a black educator.
The Jessie Peterman Library is located at 321 West Main Street in Floyd, VA.
