The Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine presents their Annual Open House on Saturday, April 20, 2024.
Enjoy all-day activities, lectures, demonstrations, meet & greets, merchandise sales, and club booths for all ages! Discover how we're making a difference in the world of veterinary medicine and public health. Meet our incredible faculty, tour the college, learn about our programs and hospitals, and enjoy food and activities. This is the perfect chance to explore how we can join hands in protecting and improving animal, human, and environmental health.

• Craft Tie Dye Pet Bandanas
• Create Tie Dye Shirts
• Live Painted Horse
• Teddy Bear Repair (Bring your own stuffie or adopt a new one)
• Touch-A-Truck
• Future Vet Photo Booth
• Germ Tracker & Pathogen Game
• Interactive Emergency Triage Stations for Pet Owners
• Ultrasound Simulator Station
• VT Therapy Dogs at Noon
• Horseshoeing 101 Demo at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM
• Virginia Tech Police Animals Unit at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM
• "A Day In The Life of a Vet Student" Lecture at 10:00 AM
• Applying to Veterinary School Lecture at 11:00 AM
Take a tour with exclusive access to the college's behind-the-scenes facilities and Veterinary Teaching Hospital! Led by students, tours in groups of ten leave every 15 minutes starting at 10:15 AM. Admission is free and the event is open to the community and family-friendly.
Food trucks on-site include: Empanada Nirvana, Cooper Dog & Co, Grandpa Ike's Donuts, Green Leaf Vegan Kitchen and Space Rabbit Coffee.
There are several parking lots near the college, but we recommend parking in the Veterinary Medicine Lot across from the college or the Duck Pond Lot.
Note: We care deeply about all animals at VMCVM. So for the safety of patients at the hospital and open house demonstration animals, we ask that guests do not bring pets to the event.
