The Pulaski Community Partners Coalition presents the Game For Hope featuring the Carolina Disco Turkeys vs. Pulaski River Turtles on Monday, June 3, 2024 at Calfee Park.
This is charity game and considered a pre-season game so is not part of the regular season standings.
Proceeds from this event will benefit the Pulaski Community Partners Coalition, Pulaski County's community prevention coalition. The goal of the game is to encourage more people to recognize the dangers of substance abuse.
The Pulaski Community Partners Coalition will have an information tent as you enter the game. There will also be a special "Meet & Greet" with WDBJ-7's Kate Capodanno before the game.
The player worn game jerseys will also be auctioned off after the game.
First pitch is at 7:00 PM and gates open at 5:30 PM.
Parking is free at Calfee Park.
The Appalachian League is a 10-team summer collegiate baseball league played in the heart of the Appalachia region of the United States and is part of the Major League Baseball (MLB) and USA Baseball Prospect Development Pipeline. The league is also an identification and selection opportunity for the following summer’s USA Baseball Collegiate National Team.
The Appalachian League will predominantly be comprised of rising freshman and sophomores from all collegiate levels, including NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and the NJCAA; however rising juniors and seniors, as well as graduating seniors are also eligible to participate in the league.
