The Blacksburg Newcomers Club of the New River Valley presents the Blacksburg Newcomers Group September Monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Blacksburg, VA.

• 9:00-9:30 AM: Social Time
• 9:40 AM: Welcome / Announcements
• 10:00 AM: Featured Speakers
Join the Blacksburg Newcomers Group for their monthly meeting. The Community Outreach Speaker is Anne Devenport from the Luther Memorial Social Ministry Committee. Featured Speakers are Dr. Ed Spencer, past Dean of Student Affairs at Virginia Tech, and Charles Johnson, a well known local historian, for a program titled "Then and Now in Blacksburg".
A casual interview will cover our guests history in our community and how our area has changed. They will highlight both memories and challenges of the Blacksburg area.
Please consider bringing Ivory Soap or a donation for the church Social Ministry Committee.
Refreshments will be provided.
The meeting is open to the public. All residents of the New River Valley are welcome and there is no fee charged.
Doors open at 8:55 AM, followed by social time and the program starts at 9:40 AM.
Luther Memorial Lutheran Church is located at 600 Prices Fork Road in Blacksburg, VA.
