Renew the New and Montgomery Parks & Recreation Department present Fall Into The New 2024 - Montgomery on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at the Whitethorne Boat Ramp in Blacksburg, VA.

Join Renew the New for their annual Fall Into the New Event to help clean litter and debris from the New River and stream access points held at multiple locations throughout the New River Valley. All volunteers will receive a free t-shirt, gloves, bags and water. Lunch will be served after the clean-up at noon.

There are a four registration options:
1. On the water: Limited number of boats provided. First come, first serve.
2. On the water: Bring your own boat and PFD.
3. Land Crew
4. Water Standby

Volunteers should wear appropriate shoes, bring sunscreen, water and bug repellent as needed. Volunteers are also welcome to bring their own boats.

Please arrive by 8:30 AM to check in. Park on the right-hand side of Whitethorne Road before you cross Tom’s Creek bridge.

ReNew the New sponsors two annual river clean-ups. In the spring is “Ramps ‘n’ Roads” and in the fall, “Fall Into the New”. Citizens of all ages, from all areas of New River Valley, will be cleaning litter from our highways and byways, boat ramps, river and stream access points. This year you can register to join one of four clean up efforts: Giles, Radford, Montgomery or Floyd. Anyone interested in protecting and renewing the beautiful New River is welcome to join in.

Whitethorn Boat Launch is located at 5277 Whitethorne Road in Blacksburg, VA.
