Description:
The Floyd Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the 4th Floyd Plein Air Biennial, the week-long outdoor painting festival, to take place at sites in and around Floyd County starting on Sunday, September 22, 2024 through Saturday, September 28, 2024.

Monday Schedule:
• Paint the Blue Ridge Parkway Artists to paint along the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway. (Mileposts TBD)

• Patron Event: Artist-Patron Meet-the-Artist Reception from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pantoufle’s Bistro, Floyd, VA. Small wet painting sale featuring smaller works from the day.

Join us for a week filled with creativity and community, featuring events like the Meet-the-Artist Reception, Artist Demo, Artist/Patron Dinner, Quick Draw Exhibition, and the Grand Public Gala Celebration & Art Sale.

The Floyd Center for the Arts is thrilled to welcome 35 talented regional and national artists to this year’s festival. Our outdoor painting event has become a cherished tradition, bringing together art lovers from near and far. We're excited to have Laura McManus, Curator of Education at the Maier Museum of Art at Randolph College, as our 2024 event judge, and Virginia native Joli Ayn Wood returning as chairperson.

Community involvement in this week-long festival is welcomed and free.

Patron tickets are available for purchase and grant access to special patron exclusive events during the week. Patron tickets are $125.00 per person.
