Blue Ridge Story Space, Let Me Tell Ya! and Virginia Storytelling Alumni (VASA) presents "Tellatbration!" Liars Contest on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at The June Bug Center.
Join us for an evening of laughter and entertainment as storytellers from all over gather to compete for the title of biggest liar. The ultimate in hilarious tall tales!
Watch contest entrants of all ages spin outrageous family-friendly yarns in a warm and welcoming environment. Whether you're a seasoned fibber or just getting started, this event is sure to be a blast. Don't miss your chance to showcase your storytelling skills and vie for the title of ultimate Liars Contest champion.
Cash prizes will be awarded for the best "lies" with $100 for 1st Place, $50 for 2nd Place and $25 for 3rd Place. First place will also receive a golden shovel to honor their storytelling prowess.
Contestants must enter in advance with a $10.00 entry fee at the following Eventbrite link: https://tinyurl.com/mtuh47ay. Audience members are free and can preregister at https://tinyurl.com/2cu9hbja.
The "lies" should be short stories (humorous, dramatic, supernatural, etc. ) lasting a maximum of five minutes with a one-minute grace period before disqualification.
The Liars Contest is part of Tellabration! which is a National Storytelling Network event that introduces new audiences to storytelling.
All are welcome.
The June Bug Center is located at 251 Parkway Lane South in Floyd, VA.
