UPDATE: In light of these unexpected circumstances, we’ve had to make some adjustments. The Floyd Center for the Arts is still without power, so the artist demonstration and judge talk are canceled. However, we’re excited to announce that the Gala Celebration and Art Sale scheduled for this evening is still on!
A huge thank you to the Ross family for generously offering their beautiful home for this evening's event at 1756 Woods Gap Rd SE, Floyd, VA.
Please note that parking is limited, so we encourage carpooling if possible. The Floyd Center for the Arts parking lot will be available for car sharing. We look forward to seeing you all there!

The Floyd Center for the Arts hosts the 4th Floyd Plein Air Biennial, the week-long outdoor painting festival, to take place at sites in and around Floyd County starting on Sunday, September 22, 2024 through Saturday, September 28, 2024. Enjoy a week filled with creativity and community, featuring events like the Meet-the-Artist Reception, Artist Demo, Artist/Patron Dinner, Quick Draw Exhibition, and the Grand Public Gala Celebration & Art Sale.
All are welcome to join us at The Floyd Center for the Arts to celebrate the culmination of the festival, view and purchase artwork created during the week. Festival awards and art recognition will take place at 7:30 pm. Food and soft beverages will be provided. A cash bar will be open with proceeds to benefit The Floyd Center for the Arts.
The Floyd Center for the Arts is thrilled to welcome 35 talented regional and national artists to this year’s festival. Our outdoor painting event has become a cherished tradition, bringing together art lovers from near and far. We're excited to have Laura McManus, Curator of Education at the Maier Museum of Art at Randolph College, as our 2024 event judge, and Virginia native Joli Ayn Wood returning as chairperson.
Patron tickets are available for purchase and grant access to special patron exclusive events during the week. Patron tickets are $125.00 per person.
