Radford University and the City of Radford present the 27th Radford Highlanders Festival on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Radford University's Moffett Field.
The Radford Highlanders Festival is a celebration of Scottish heritage featuring the famed Scottish Heavyweight games with multiple divisions starting at 9:00 AM, bagpiping, live music and dancing performances on two stages along with music on the Plaza headlined by The Fighting Jamesons along with performances by Kinnfolk, Geoff the Fiddler and more, sheepherding, Scottish Clans, food, vendors, children's games, iconic Highlander cows from New River Highland Cattle Farm and festivities for all ages.

The Fighting Jamesons deliver a traditional style of music with an aggressive and energetic modern-day approach featuring Irish, folk, world and Americana rock.
Forming in 2010, The Fighting Jamesons quickly gained a strong presence on the East Coast. They’ve shared the stage with legendary Irish rock acts such as Dropkick Murphys, The Saw Doctors and Young Dubliners.

https://www.facebook.com/GeofftheFiddlerJosh and Julie Kinn weave bouzouki, bodhran, and smooth vocal harmonies in their Celtic folk music from the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains to form Kinnfolk.
The duo’s musical style is heavily influenced by the sounds of the Roanoke, Virginia traditional Irish session, where they met in 2017. Since forming Kinnfolk in late 2018, the pair have played at festivals, breweries, and listening rooms all over the Southwest Virginia region.

There is no place more beautiful than Southwest Virginia in the fall and the Blue Ridge Mountains provide a beautiful back-drop for the fall festival.
Admission is free and and all are welcome.
The festival is a joint partnership with the City of Radford and Radford University.
