Description:
UPDATE: Big Al and the Heavyweights Show is cancelled. We apologize for the late notice but we have just learned that Big Al's tour bus has broken down outside Wilmington, NC and they will not be able to get to Pulaski by tomorrow. Anyone who purchased tickets will be reimbursed asap (we have already started the process). Again, we are so sorry for the late notice but it is a much bigger issue for Big Al and the Heavyweights - Al is seriously worried that the engine is blown -- which will be devastating for a band that tour constantly.

The New River Blues Society presents Big Al and the Heavyweights in concert on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at the Pulaski Theatre.

Don't miss this incredible Blues group, Big Al and the Heavyweights at the spectacular Pulaski Theater!

Big Al and the Heavyweights perform a cajun spiced blend of American roots music with funk, blues, jazz, zydeco and country. Originally formed in 1996 as the Unknown Blues Band with founding members Al Lauro, Warren Haynes (Allman Brothers Band and Gov't Mule), and pianist Rick Gergen (Sweethearts of the Rodeo). Of course, Warren is no longer in the band, but Big Al has formed a solid array of musicians that features Louisiana Music Hall of Fame pianist vocalist, Wayne Lohr along with guitarist vocalist extraordinaire Marcel Anton and renowned California bassist vocalist Mark Parsons.

Big Al and The Heavyweights were inducted into The Alabama Blues Music Hall of Fame in Birmingham on April of 2023. The band tours extensively playing venues and festivals throughout the United States.

Big Al and the Heavyweights' live performances are family oriented, energetic and most of all fun. This is a show you don't want to miss!
