American Legion Post 59 and Christiansburg High School presents the Annual Christiansburg Veterans Day Parade and on Monday, November 11, 2024 in downtown Christiansburg, VA starting at the Christiansburg Town Hall.
Join us in Christiansburg as we honor those who have served our country with bravery and dedication. This Veterans Day, let's come together to celebrate and remember the sacrifices that have shaped our nation's history.
Residents are encouraged to line the parade route, display flags, and show their support for veterans.
Event Schedule:
9:45 AM:
Gathering Point: Veterans and participants are to assemble in front of Iron Tree Brewery (5 Roanoke Street). This is the staging area where you can join fellow veterans, community members, and parade organizers.
10:30 AM:
Parade Start: The parade starts promptly at 10:30 AM from Town Hall. Due to construction on Hickok Street, the route may change from previous years.
11:00 AM:
Ceremony Start: Following the parade's conclusion, a wreath-laying ceremony will occur at the War Memorial in the town square. This year's speaker is Army Veteran and Virginia State Delegate Chris Obenshain.
12:00 PM:
Veterans Luncheon: After the ceremony, all veterans are invited to a special luncheon at the VFW Hall, located at 490 High Street NE. This event, generously provided by the Christiansburg High School Culinary Arts Students, offers an opportunity for veterans to enjoy a meal together and share stories.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
Limited parking will be available near the event area. Participants and spectators are encouraged to park in the lots on the outskirts of downtown.
