Downtown Blacksburg presents their 2024 Blacksburg Trick Or Treat on Thursday, October 31, 2024.
Schedule of Events:
• 3:00 PM: Spooky Storytime with giveaways & candy at Blacksburg Books
• 4:00-6:00 PM: Halloween Game at The Little Bookworm Store
• 4:00-6:00 PM: Trick or Treating at Participating Downtown Blacksburg Merchants
• 4:00-6:00 PM: Halloween Games & Art Activities on Draper Road and College Avenue
• 5:30 PM: Costume Contest on Henderson Lawn Stage
Enjoy candy, games and prizes! Trick-or-Treat in Downtown Blacksburg with your favorite Downtown Blacksburg Merchants! Parks and Recreation will have Halloween games and art activities on Draper Road and College Avenue. There will also be a Costume Contest on the Henderson Lawn Stage with multiple categories starting at 5:30 PM. Enjoy a Spooky Storytime from Blacksburg Books at 3:00 PM and play a Halloween game at The Little Bookworm.
The Costume Contest will feature the following age groups:
• Ages 0-5
• Ages 6-10
• Ages 11-15
• Ages 16+
Costume Contest Categories:
• Most Creative Costume: Prizes include Books from Blacksburg Books and The Little Bookworm, Downtown Blacksburg gift cards
• Funniest Costume: Prizes include Sugar Magnolia gift cards and The Lyric Theatre Tickets
• Best DIY Costume: Prizes provided by New River Art & Fiber
• Best Group Ensemble (Any ages): 1st prize winners receive a Downtown Blacksburg prize package valued $200 (4 tickets to see Cirque Kalabante at the Moss Arts Center and dinner at a downtown restaurant), 2nd place: $50 Downtown Gift Certificates, 3rd place: $25 Downtown Gift Certificates
Admission is free and all ages are welcome.
