Description:
Science on Tap - New River Valley presents their January event titled "Food for Thought: How Retail Spaces Shape Our Choices and the Planet" on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Rising Silo Farm Brewery in Blacksburg, VA.
Grocery shopping is complicated -- and maybe not for the reasons you think. Join Ph.D. candidate Maria DeNunzio to explore how the spaces where we live, work, shop, and play shape our food choices and affect our health and the health of the planet. We will explore what we consider an "ideal" food store -- and how many versions of ideal can serve a community.
Science on Tap is free and open to the public.
Hosted by Virginia Tech’s Center for Communicating Science and the Virginia Tech chapter of Sigma Xi.
