Description:
Blacksburg Contra Dance presents their May Blacksburg Contra Dance on Saturday, May 17, 2025 on the dance floor at the YMCA at Virginia Tech.
Dance Schedule:
• 7:00-7:30 PM: Beginners Lesson
• 7:30-10:30 PM: Contra Dance
This will be our last dance of the season and wow are we going out with a bang! Join us with music from Toss the Possum with expert calling from Joe Wilkie from Berea, Kentucky serving as the caller for the dance!
Contra Dance is a traditional American dance in which couples dance in two long facing lines or in groups of four.
The cost is $12.00 for adults, $10.00 for students and children under the age of 16 are free.
No experience necessary. No partner required. All dances taught throughout the evening.
A beginner lesson starts at 7:00 PM and the dancing starts at 7:30 PM.
All are welcome.
If you feel sick or were recently exposed to someone with symptoms of an illness that may be contagious, please stay home and take care of yourself so we can see you at our next dance.
The YMCA at Virginia Tech is located at 1000 North Main Street in Blacksburg, VA.
