2025 Virginia Tech Open Foundry Day for Ages 5 & Up

Description:
Virginia Tech Materials Science and Engineering (VT MSE) and the American Foundry Society - Student Chapter at Virginia Tech presents the Annual Virginia Tech Open Foundry Day on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the Kroehling Advanced Materials Foundry.

Visitors will use a sand mold to create a personalized design. Virginia Tech students will then pour hot gray iron into the mold for a gift for that special someone.

Visitors can also enter a raffle to win a metallic rose or Hokie Bird.

Admission is free and open to ages 5 and above. Minor participants must be under adult supervision at all times.

All participants must wear long pants and close-toed shoes.

Sponsored by the American Foundry Society - Student Chapter at Virginia Tech.

The Kroehling Advanced Materials Foundry is located at 145 Inventive Lane in Blacksburg, VA.
