The Newport Community Center hosts a Three Performer Concert with Jack Bird, Ash Devine and The Mummer on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at the Newport Community Center.

Enjoy an evening of experimental folk and noise! Jack Bird is a musician from Nashville, Tennessee, Ash Devine is from Blacksburg, VA and The Mummer is from Roanoke, VA.

Jack Bird is an instrumentalist, violinist, vocalist, improviser, and composer based in Nashville, Tennessee.

Ash Devine is an accomplished songwriter, ukulele and guitar player, performance artist, educator, and community-based arts facilitator whose work is influenced by her upbringing in the Blue Ridge mountains, and by her international travels to perform in health care facilities with Patch Adams M.D. Devine is known as a true ‘folk troubadour’ because she writes, collects, and performs cross genre music based on numerous folk traditions including original Americana & indie-folk-rock, traditional Appalachian old time, contemporary folk, country blues, historic bluegrass, folk revival, classic rock, and international folk music. Ash has self produced two albums of original music, and is working on two more, including a traditional Appalachian and folk legacy compilation.

Born and raised in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia, Ash lived for over 17 years in the Western North Carolina region where she developed her studies of Appalachian music traditions.

The Mummer is one half of premier New River Valley noise ghouls Dog Scream.

The cover is $10.00 per person.

All ages are welcome.

This is a sober event.

Doors open at 6:00 PM and the music starts at 7:00 PM.

The Newport Community Center is located at 434 Blue Grass Trail (Route 42) in Newport, VA.
