The Newport Community Center hosts a Three Performer Concert on Monday, April 14, 2025.
Enjoy an evening of solo guitar explorations, cello and fiddle drone featuring Alexander from New Haven, Connecticut, Mike Gangloff from Ironto, VA and Kaily Schenker from Prices Fork, VA.
David Shapiro, who create instrumental music and performs solo guitar shows as Alexander, is a musician based in New Haven, Connecticut.

Fiddler Mike Gangloff (Ironto) plays free Appalachian music that weaves together improvisation, melodic composition, and traditional tunes learned from older players in a region around his home in Southwest Virginia. He often performs solo on hardanger-style and octave fiddles, as well as in duos, including this year with UK guitarist C Joynes, with Prices Fork cellist Kaily Schenker, and with fellow Black Twig Pickers guitarist and banjoist Isak Howell. Besides the Black Twigs, Mike is a founding member of Pelt and Eight Point Star.

Kaily Schenker is a cellist who studied cello at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is now based in the New River Valley.

Doors open at 6:00 PM and the music starts at 7:00 PM.
