The Radford Public Library presents Radford Reads with Radford University hosting Author & Illustrator Carole Boston Weatherford and Jeffery Boston Weatherford on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
Carole and Jeffery will visit for refreshments, book signing, and a brief storytime. Each family will receive a free copy of Weatherford’s "Mama and Me" while supplies last!
Carole & Jeffery are an author-illustrator, mother-son duo behind children’s and young adult books. Carole has written more than 70 books. She is the 2025-2026 Young People’s Poet Laureate, winner of the 2025 Children’s Literature Legacy Award, and has also won a Caldecott Medal, John Newbery Medal, NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Life, Golden Kite Award, and much more!
Jeffery is an award-winning children’s book illustrator and a performance poet. His works have been awarded a Coretta Scott King Honor and the Boston Globe/Horn Book Award for Poetry.
