The Waldron Fitness Center and Eastmont Community Foundation sponsor and present the 2025 Independence Day 5k & Fun Run beginning and ending at Old Town Fields in Shawsville, VA on Friday, July 4, 2025.

Race Day Schedule:
• 7:00-7:50 AM: Race Day Packet Pickup
• 8:00 AM: 5k begins
• ~8:05 AM: Kids Fun Run begins

Join us on Independence Day for a 5K road course through beautiful Shawsville, VA. This race can be a competitive race for you and/or a reunion of friends. All levels of runners and walkers are encouraged to join including joggers, walkers and stroller pushers are welcome. And, there is a free Fun Run for the little ones starting shortly after the 5k begins.

Enjoy a Competitive Road Course with race awards given out. Medals will be given out to the top finishers and awards for the top finishers in each age group. There will also be an award given to the Fastest Family (three immediate family members scored by age group).

The road course is mostly level and follows Old Town Road West, loops onto US 460 and back onto Old Town Road for the return leg. Water will be available at 1.5 miles.

Registration is $40.00 and sign-up before Tuesday, July 1st to guarantee a t-shirt. The Fun Run is free for children.

Participants can register online at https://runsignup.com/Race/VA/Shawsville/WaldronFitness5k or in-person at the Waldron Fitness front desk located within the Meadowbrook Center or the morning before the race until 7:50 AM.

Packet pickup will at the Waldron Fitness Center on Thursday, July 3rd from 4:00-6:00 PM or before the race on race day.

Walkers and strollers are welcome.

The 5k is rain or shine.
