The Blacksburg Parks and Recreation Department and the Town of Blacksburg present the 2025 Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks on Friday, July 4, 2025 at the Blacksburg Municipal Park starting at 6:00 PM.
Schedule:
• 6:00-7:00 PM: Blacksburg Community Band performs
• 7:30-9:30 PM: Roots Down in Concerts
• 9:30 PM: Fireworks Show begins
Enjoy live music with a handful of food vendors before everyone's favorite annual Fireworks Show starting at 9:30 PM.
The Blacksburg Community Band, Inc. is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit community organization formed in 1989 under the auspices of the Department of Parks and Recreation in the Town of Blacksburg, Virginia.
The ensemble is open to individuals of all ages and ability levels from the New River Valley and surrounding areas and performs in an average of 20 concerts each year throughout the New River Valley. The band was incorporated in Virginia as a non-profit corporation in 2007.

Root Down is a jazz band based in Blacksburg, VA that often diverges into funk, blues, soul featuring talented local musicians including Justin Craig.
