Hacksburg presents the workshop "Foam Smithing - Cosplay 101" on Sunday, June 29, 2025.

This introductory workshop demystifies the art of foam smithing - a cornerstone technique for creating lightweight, durable, and detailed costume pieces without breaking the bank. We'll discuss essential skills including pattern making, cutting techniques, heat forming, surface texturing, and finishing methods that elevate simple foam sheets into convention-worthy creations. Taught by an award-winning cosplay artist.

Whether you're preparing for your first cosplay or looking to level up your existing skills, this class provides the foundation for bringing your favorite characters and original designs to life through the versatile medium of foam.

The cost of the class is $5.00 for non-members and free for Hacksburg members.
