Draper Village Chapel hosts the inaugural The Listening Room Concert with Riley and the Rootabagas on Sunday, July 13, 2025.
Join us for a unique musical experience in The Listening Room, a space designed for stillness, sound and soul. The 130-year-old Village Chapel offers an intimate concert experience. Housed in a beautifully preserved chapel with natural wood and plaster acoustics, the room offers an intimate setting to sit, listen, and truly enjoy live music.
Our debut performance features Riley and the Rootabagas, blending folk and bluegrass in a rich acoustic set. The show runs two hours with an intermission and refreshments will be available for purchase.
Riley and the Rootabagas are an acoustic roots band based in the New River Valley.
These four seasoned musicians feature deep rich vocals, luscious smooth harmonies, and the succulent sounds of guitar, fiddle, and stand up bass. They perform selections from their favorite artists and songwriters, traditional and contemporary, all arranged with their own Rootabaga flavor. The quartet has cooked up a stewpot of Americana music to share with their listening audiences, simmering with folk, blues, country, western swing, gospel, jazz, Celtic, and Appalachian old time bluegrass. Their menu includes some instrumental tunes, some a cappella songs, and a side dish of originals.
From bowed ballads to rollicking rhythms, their concert will leave you smiling!
There is no cover charge though tips are appreciated for the musicians.

Seating is limited and first come, first served.
Doors open at 1:30 PM and the music starts at 2:00 PM.
