Radford University's Highland Summer Conference presents the Reed Tradition Family String Band in concert on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at Selu Conservancy.
You don't have to be part of the 2025 Highland Summer Conference, you don't even have to be a writer, to enjoy the Reed Family Tradition String Band. The band carries on the legacy of Henry Reed, a Giles County fiddler whose music is still played all around the region and is preserved in the Library of Congress. This is old time string band and fiddle music at its best.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
The Highland Summer Writers' Conference is a one-week intensive workshop offered annually by Radford University that is team-taught by well-known guest writers. It offers the opportunity to study and practice creative and expository writing within the context of regional culture. This year the conference runs from July 14th - 18th.
Selu Conservancy is located at 3215 Dry Valley Road in Radford, VA.
