Radford University Planetarium presents the Holiday Planetarium Show titled "Season of Light" with the three showings no Friday, December 12, 2025 and Saturday, December 13, 2025.
Schedule of Showings:
• Friday, December 12th at 7:00 PM
• Saturday, December 13th at 10:30 AM
• Saturday, December 13th at 1:00 PM
These are the last three shows of the fall semester.
Start off with a tour of the current sky, including the planets, prominent stars, and constellations that you can see now. We will fly you through space to see what lies beyond our own planet.
Following the tour we will have an amazing full dome planetarium show that will have something for everyone titled "Season of Light". This show is all about the stars and constellations and legends of the season including St. Nicholas and the tradition of gift-giving.
"Season of Light" describes the legends associated with the stars and constellations that appear during the Christmas season such as Orion the Hunter, Taurus the Bull, and Leo the Lion. Narrated by Noah Adams of NPR’s "All Things Considered" and appropriate for all ages, the show explores the stories and legends of the season including the Star of Bethlehem, Jolly Old Saint Nick, holiday lights and candles, the traditions of gift-giving, and solstice festivals.
After a brief exploration of the current night sky, the full dome show "Season of Light" itself is 35 minutes long.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
Radford University Planetarium is located at 925 East Main Street in Radford, VA.
