Blacksburg Newcomers Club presents their January General Meeting on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Blacksburg, VA.

Meeting Schedule:

• 9:45 AM: Community Outreach Speaker
• 10:10-11:00 AM: Featured Speaker
• 11:00-11:30 AM: Unstructured General Community Q&A

The featured January speaker is Fred Rawlins, II, DO, the Senior Associate Dean for Simulation and Technology and Associate Professor for Emergency Medicine at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM). Dr. Rollins, a well-known educator, will be addressing trending areas of health concerns and updates to our current medical systems.

The January Outreach Speaker is Leah Wechtaluk-McFarren from NRV Cares.

This event is free and open to the public.

Feel free to come as a guest and see all the Club has to offer. Our club is open to all residents of the New River Valley. Whether you are new or have lived here for years, you are welcome!

The Blacksburg Newcomers Club is a social club focusing on building friendships and community for all in the New River Valley.

If you would like to join our Club, annual membership is open to everyone in the New River Valley, from brand new residents to long- timers. The cost is $30.00 annually with the year beginning in September.

Parking is easiest in the lower parking lot off of Prices Fork Road.

Doors open 8:55 AM and the meeting is from 9:00-11:30 AM.

Luther Memorial Lutheran Church is located at 600 Prices Fork Road in Blacksburg, VA.
