What holds the universe together? What are the building blocks of the so-called "glue" we have not yet found, that makes the universe look the way it looks today? Researchers all around the world try to answer this question. We know that approximately a quarter of the universe is filled with a mysterious glue - dark matter. We know that it is out there, we see its gravitational effects, but we have no clue what it is made out of, yet.
This show takes you on the biggest quest in astrophysics. You will see why we know this mysterious dark matter exists and how this search is one of the most challenging and exciting searches astro particle physics has to offer. Join scientists who hunt for dark matter, searching both in space as well as deep underground.
"The Dark Mattery Mystery" is 38 minutes long and was produced by our friends at the Planetarium Laupheim in Germany.
The show will start off with a tour of the current nighttime sky, including the planets, prominent stars, and constellations that you can see now.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
Radford University Planetarium is located at 925 East Main Street in Radford, VA.
