Virginia Tech School of Performing Arts presents live theatre titled "Walk Like a Man" with three performances starting on Thursday, February 5, 2026 through Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Theatre 101 on the campus of Virginia Tech and in downtown Blacksburg, VA.
Performance Schedule:
• Thursday, February 5th at 7:30 PM (Open Dress Rehearsal)
• Friday, February 6th at 7:30 PM
• Saturday, February 7th at 7:30 PM
"Walk Like a Man" is a devised dance/theater performance that asks the question: In the age of the male loneliness epidemic and the manosphere, what does it mean to be “man enough?”.
Through the eyes of a time-traveling character named Mr. Spectator, this absurdist romp interrogates individual and societal attitudes towards masculinity and male embodiment in current and historical contexts. The work explores the various societal pressures placed on men through the dancers’ own personal narratives and a wide array of topics including (but not limited to) UFC fighting, color guard, raw meat diets, video games, ballet, renaissance paintings, and country line dancing.
Admission is free. No ticket reservations needed.
Note: Due to some adult language and themes, this program is recommended for ages 13+.
Theatre 101 is located at 200 College Avenue in Blacksburg, VA on the campus of Virginia Tech and in downtown Blacksburg, VA.
