Description:
Science on Tap New River Valley presents the March program "The Physics of Sound: From Vibrations to Relaxation" on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Rising Silo Farm Brewery.
How is sound possible? Explore with Omolara Bakare how this physical phenomenon, created by vibrations that travel through mediums such as solids, allows us to perceive pitch, volume, and tone.
Fraser Lee Hudgins will tell us how vibrational frequencies affect the nervous system. You’ll gain hands- and ears-on experience with the physics of sound and frequencies!
Admission is free and all ages are welcome.
Sponsored by the Center for Communicating Science and the Sigma Xi chapter at Virginia Tech.
Rising Silo Farm Brewery is located at 2351 Glade Road in Blacksburg, VA.
