Description:
JAM Montgomery County presents the MJAM Community Dinner and Concert on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Meadowbrook Center in Shawsville, VA.
Join MJAM (Junior Appalachian Musicians Montgomery County) for a fun night of music, food including beans, cornbread, slaw, drinks, and prizes! We'll have tickets available for our spring raffle, a silent auction for a farm basket from Lone Oak Farms and a 50/50 raffle drawing.
Entertainment will feature music from The Indian Run Stringband and The Lovely Mountaineers, as well as MJAM students, instructors and parent ensembles.
MJAM began in 2018 by a group of community leaders from Montgomery County Tourism, Montgomery County Museum, Ignite College, and local musicians and parents. It is held after school on Monday afternoons from 4:00–6:00 PM at the Montgomery Museum of Art and History, and is available for children in grades 4-8. The program teaches fiddle, clawhammer banjo, guitar and offers a variety of enrichment activities, as well.
Admission is free. Food and drinks will be available for sale.
Join the MJAM community for a great night of fun, music, food, and prizes and help support the museum's independently funded youth music program that celebrates Appalachian music!
The Meadowbrook Center is located at 267 Alleghany Spring Road in Shawsville, VA.
