Description:
The Virginia Tech Mid-Atlantic Aviation Partnership presents the 2026 Drone Safety Day on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at the Virginia Tech Drone Park.

Drone safety day is an annual Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) campaign dedicated to educating the public on safe, responsible and legal drone operations. Our netted enclosure at the Virginia Tech Drone Park offers a unique safe space for people to get hands-on practice flying.

We will also have information about FAA training and registration guidelines as well as educational presentations about where you can fly locally in the National Airspace at 2:00 PM, 2:30 PM, 3:00 PM and 3:30 PM.

All attendees will have an opportunity to enter a drawing to win a free Potensic Atom 2 drone.

Admission is free and open to the public.

This event is weather permitting.

Note: Please leave your personal drones at home. No unauthorized flights will be allowed.

The Virginia Tech Drone Park is located at 2143 Oak Lane in Blacksburg, VA on the campus of Virginia Tech.
