The Radford University College of Visual & Performing Arts presents the 25th Annual International Guitar Festival on Friday, April 10, 2026 and Saturday, April 11, 2026 inside the Covington Center on the campus of Radford University.

Friday Schedule:
• 10:00-11:00 AM: James Piorkowski "Composing for Guitar" Workshop
• 11:30 AM: Community Guitar Orchestra
• 2:00 PM: Duo Chinoiserie discuss the Chinese guzheng and guitar
• 3:00-4:00 PM: Christopher Wilkie Guitar Class
• 7:00 PM: Hao Yang Concert
• 8:00 PM: Duo Chinoiserie Concert

The 25th International Guitar Festival at Radford University is a two-day celebration of guitar music with evening performances and masterclasses with renowned performers and exotic instruments from around the world and the United States. The objective of this event is to firstly, provide an opportunity for students to gain knowledge and understanding of global perspectives in music and secondly, offer students direct access to internationally recognized artists.

Four international guest artists and one alumna including Duo Chinoiserie: Xia Jing and Bin Hu (China), Meng Su (China)(formerly from China, now in the US), Samrat Majumder (India/Scotland), and Yazmin “Yaz” WIlliams, Alumna of Radford University's Summer Governor's School, will each conduct interactive master classes.

This event will not be just about performances, it will give students a chance to learn directly from international artists, experience new musical perspectives, and connect across cultures. By bringing in artists from different backgrounds, we aim to create an inclusive space for growth and exchange.

Admissions is free and open to the public. No registration is required.

All events take place in the Davis Performance Hall in the Covington Center on the campus of Radford University.

Parking is free and abundant.
