Description:
Join Springhouse and The Partnership for Floyd for a collaborative Earth Day Celebration event and the 4th Annual Procession of Appalachian Species at Warren G. Lineberry Park on Saturday, April 18, 2026.

The Procession of Appalachian Species is a giant puppet and costume parade to celebrate our regions' biodiversity that will take place from 12:00-2:00 PM parading through the Town of Floyd. These puppets are a way of honoring and highlighting these amazing creatures in an attempt to bring consciousness and conservation to this immense resource in our region. The theme for the parade this year is the "Little River", but all Appalachian species are welcome.

The Partnership for Floyd and other local nature organizations will be on site and the Partnership will be giving away free garden seeds at their table.

Other Activities Include:
• Earth Day Celebration Workshops & Exhibits
• Crafts for all ages
• Music
• Activities at the Farmers Market

All are welcome to make puppets and costumes of their favorite species and show up to celebrate Earth Day with us.

Admission is free and all are welcome.

Note: This event is weather permitting.

Warren G. Lineberry Memorial Park is located at 284 S. Locust Street in Floyd, VA.
