NRV Cares and the Montgomery County Department of Social Services presents the 5th Annual Spring Family Fun Day on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at the Christiansburg Huckleberry park.

Join us for a free fun filled afternoon to celebrate Child Abuse Prevention Month, fun and healthy childhoods with free food & treats, vendors, games, prizes, activities, resources and more!

Everything is free and all are welcome.

NRV CARES is an organization in the New River Valley that provides child advocacy, resources, education and services. Our program areas include CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), Parent Education including Parenting Young Children Courses, Circle of Parents Support Group, Parenting Through Separation and Divorce Seminars, and Parenting workshops and Community Education programs ("Hugs and Kisses" plays, Stewards of Children trainings, the Pinwheels for Prevention campaign to increase awareness of child abuse/neglect, events for the community concerning child welfare issues, and many more).

NRV CARES’ mission is to strengthen families and protect children with a vision of our NRV free of child abuse.
