Description:
The Radford University College of Visual & Performing Arts continues their Selu Scenery Plein Air Workshop series with lead artist Matt Gentry on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM with a registration deadline of Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Selu Conservancy in Radford, VA.

The first Selu Scenery workshop of 2026 returns led by award-winning watercolor artist Matt Gentry. This will be a fun and engaging exercise in painting outdoors on location. After introductions, we will take a walk on the SELU property with our sketchbooks while discussing scene selections. After the walk, participants are invited to observe Matt's watercolor painting process or begin their own paintings. The goal of the workshop is to have completed paintings done by 2pm for a pop up art show and soft critique.

This plein air session includes a guided walk to choose your scene. Bring a sketchbook or drawing pad, pencils, and your preferred painting supplies.

Workshops are 100% free though participants must supply their own materials. Both students and the public are welcome.
