Virginia's Blue Ridge Music Festival presents a Special Family Concert titled "America at 250" on Friday, June 19, 2026 at the Presbyterian Church of Floyd.

This inspiring concert celebrates America's musical heritage from 1776 to 2026 with works by American composers Gershwin, Copland, Joplin, and Duke Ellington. The performance features David Stewart Wiley on piano, violinist Akemi Takayama, flutist Julee Hickcox, and oboist William Parrish, along with talented local young musicians.

Admission is free though donations are appreciated.

Virginia's Blue Ridge Music Festival ongoing focus is on music education, especially the support of local young people, and on broadening our region’s musical richness by making classical music and a blend of classical and Appalachian heritage styles affordable and available in our community – in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
