Description:
The Pulaski Theatre hosts the Annual Veterans Remembrance Ceremony on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

Join us this Independence Day as Pulaski comes together to honor our veterans and celebrate the Nation’s 250th Birthday with a heartfelt ceremony.

From the presentation of colors to a solemn recognition of our POW/MIA, a 21-gun salute by the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery Honor Guard, performances by the Wilderness Road Chorus and bagpiper Andrew Meeks, presentation of a patriotic 250th anniversary quilt from the Draper Art & Quilt Collective, and the playing of "Taps" by Pulaski County High School Band Director Kevin Faller, this ceremony pays tribute to the courage, sacrifice, and steadfast service of America’s defenders.

This year’s program will highlight the region’s ties to the Revolutionary War through portrayals of local soldiers and notable residents who lived in what is now Pulaski County during that era. Members of the Courthouses Exhibits Committee will wear period clothing, and attendees are encouraged to participate by dressing in Revolutionary War-era attire.

On this Fourth of July, we reflect on 250 years of American independence, years secured and safeguarded by citizens who answered the call to serve. Their devotion to duty, love of country, and quiet heroism have carried our freedoms from the founding to the future. As we gather beneath the same flag that has guided us through trial and triumph, we honor the legacy they built and recommit ourselves to the ideals they protected: liberty, equality, and a more perfect union.

Following the ceremony, guests can enjoy refreshments and tours of the old Pulaski County Historic Courthouse and view a new exhibit "Women in Wartime", which showcases uniforms, photographs, medals and other military artifacts belonging to local women. It highlights the role women have played through the years during times of war, both on and off the battlefields.

Admission is free and open to the public.

Doors open at 11:00 AM and programming begins promptly at 12:00 PM.

Veterans service representatives will be available before and after the ceremony to provide information on benefits and assistance programs.

This event is proudly sponsored by the Pulaski County Courthouses Exhibits Committee, the Pulaski County Board of Supervisors, and the Pulaski County veterans’ organizations.

Bring your family, your neighbors, and your gratitude.

The Historic Pulaski Theatre is located at 14 West Main Street in Pulaski, VA.
