tanZ Navigation LLC presents the Blacksburg Adventure Skills Hullabaloo (BASH) 2026 on Saturday, August 15, 2026 and Sunday, August 16, 2026 at notable locations in the New River Valley starting on Saturday at the Heritage Park Trailhead in Blacksburg, VA.

Adventurous souls are invited for a weekend of skill-building, camaraderie and fun at the Blacksburg Adventure Skills Hullabaloo. The Hullabaloo is a part-competition, part skills/practice, part adventure hangout. The Hullabaloo is not an official race. It's more of a directed gathering.

There will be up to 50 miles of single track mountain biking on Saturday, followed by up to 4 hours of foot orienteering. Sunday will be all about paddling: a race, some skills practice, maybe playing on our electric foil, and a lakeside picnic.

The event has Three Stages/Parts:
• Stage 1 (Saturday, 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM) will be up to 7 hours of mountain biking on 50+ miles of single track.
• Stage 2 (Saturday, 2:30-6:30 PM) will be up to 4 hours of foot orienteering on a 30 point rogaine course.
• Stage 3 (Sunday, 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM) will be a short (1-3 hours) paddle for time followed by a lakeside picnic.

On Friday evening, participants can meet for dinner, map distribution and to discuss route and strategy at Eastern Divide Brewery from 6:30-9:00 PM. Maps can also be picked up on Saturday morning at the Heritage Park Trailhead.

Dinner, drinks and awards will be held on Saturday from 7:00-10:00 PM at Rising Silo Brewery.

On Sunday, the activities switch to the water and a lake cabin in Pulaski, VA.

If you can't make the entire weekend, then just come for a part of it.

The fee is $25.00 to cover the cost of printed waterproof maps.
