The Arc of the New River Valley presents Sensory-Friendly Pool Party on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at the Frog Pond in Christiansburg, VA.

Enjoy an accessible and sensory-friendly pool party. We've teamed up with the Montgomery County Department of Parks and Recreation to bring you this free event open to everyone regardless of ability or affiliation. The machines will be off, allergy-friendly snacks and crafts will be provided.

Admission is free and open to everyone.

Children must be chaperoned and bring your own towel.

Co-sponsored by The Arc of New River Valley and Montgomery County Park and Recreation.

The Arc promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes.

We are people with disabilities, family members of people with disabilities, teachers and students in our local school systems, university professionals, doctors, accountants, consultants, community activists.

We hold a vision that people with disabilities in southwest Virginia will be active members of our communities and will have the support they need to live the lives they choose. We know that in Virginia people with disabilities who want to live in the community may need help and a microboard can help them. A microboard provides respectful, person centered support for individuals and their families. The most important first step toward establishing a microboard for a person is helping the person to have a strong circle of friends.
