Crooked Mountain Farm & Campground presents the 2nd Annual Pickin' Fest on Saturday, August 1, 2026.

Enjoy a full day of live music, flowers, food, local vendors, mountain views, a kids zone and laid-back summer fun. There will be food pickin', flower pickin' and guitar pickin' on the stage from three great local bands. Set on our farm just off the Blue Ridge Parkway, Pickin’ Fest brings together live music, local food, flower picking, local vendors and artisans, wellness and kids activities, and good people for a relaxed summer day in the mountains.

• 2:00-4:00 PM: Rock Castle Gorgeous
• 5:00-8:00 PM: The Deer Run Drifters

The Deer Run Drifters (DRD) are a stringed quintet from the small mountain town of Floyd, Virginia. The group, all from former bands of different genres came together in mid 2012 to play a more folk, bluegrass and Americana sound.

With one half of the band influenced by the sounds and lyrics of alt-country, and the other half deeply rooted in a more modern folk, The Deer Run Drifters have quickly carved themselves out a perfect spot in Americana music.

They logged 200+ shows across the East Coast and Midwest, toured the U.S., and released two acclaimed albums—Appalachian Blues (2013), praised for its raw tales of hardship, and Restless Youth (2015), which amped up their sound with rock-driven energy while keeping their authenticity intact.

Now, more than a decade later, The Deer Run Drifters are back. With a new lineup, a renewed sense of purpose, and fresh songs that embrace their traditional roots, the band is ready to rekindle their connection with fans. They’re doubling down on the grit and authenticity that made them a standout name in Americana music.

Rock Castle Gorgeous is a talented local trio that performs eclectic tunes.

Walker's Creek & The Hound Dogs is a bluegrass band with country tendencies and are based in Floyd County, VA.

Explore 35+ local vendors, food trucks and enjoy additional activities throughout the day, The Kids Zone will feature a bounce house and face painting. The Camp Store will also be open with cold drinks, snacks and souvenirs.

There will also be ticket add-ons including Flower Picking, Kids Yoga and Massage & Wellness.

Wander through the flower fields and create your own bouquet from our seasonal blooms. Pre-order your flower picking container through the add-ons section and we’ll have it ready for you at the store when you arrive.

Michelle from Michelle’s Yoga & Wellness will be hosting fun and beginner-friendly kids yoga sessions from 2:30-3:30 PM and 5:30-6:30 PM for $10.00 per child. Designed for ages 5–15, these relaxed and engaging sessions are a great way for kids to stretch, move, and enjoy the farm atmosphere during the festival.

Take a break, relax, and recharge with a wellness experience provided by Therapeutic Massage and Wellness of Floyd. Massage sessions will be available onsite throughout the event from 1:00-7:00 PM. Stop by the massage tent to sign up for an available time slot during the festival. Massages are $20.00 for a 15 minute massage and $40.00 for a 30 minute massage.

Carpooling is encouraged as parking space on the farm can be limited.

Crooked Mountain Farm & Campground is located at 1378 Shooting Creek Road in Floyd, VA. Located four miles from downtown Floyd, right on the Crooked Road Historic Music Trail, and just off the Blue Ridge Parkway.
