The Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley presents the 2026 Rhythm by the Rails on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Jackson Park in Pulaski, VA.

Event Schedule:
• 3:00-3:20 PM: GRAPe JAM (Junior Appalachian Musicians of Greater Pulaski)
3:30-5:00 PM: The Fritz Schindler Band
5:00-5:30 PM: Performance by Pulaski Dance Productions
5:45-7:15 PM: The Jimothy
7:30-9:00 PM: The Woogemen

Join us for our annual music, arts and festival featuring music from The Fritz Schindler Band, Jimothy, and The Woogemen with special guests The Junior Appalachian Musicians of Greater Pulaski and Pulaski Dance Productions along with five food trucks, artist vendors, kids activities and community art in one of Pulaski's most scenic outdoor spaces.

The Woogemen are a blues-based, little big-band with a wide musical footprint based in the New River Valley. Playing and reprising music from eras past including folk, rock, jazz, soul, and funk. From Louis Armstrong to Pink Floyd, John Prine to The Meters, The Woogemen have you covered.

Jimothy is a multi-genre band based around the solo work of singer and guitarist Jim Bohon based in the New River Valley region of Virginia. Jim is a multi-instrumentalist, and performed all instrumentation and vocals on the band's debut album "Never In A Million Years," before fleshing out a full band when the album proved to be popular among local audiences. Jimothy love what they do, and it shines through in their performance, no matter the event or venue.

Fritz Schindler is a whirlwind of musical enthusiasm. His energetic live shows combine him playing a vast array of traditional Appalachian instruments—mandolin, guitar, hammered dulcimer, bouzouki, banjo, percussion—along with his versatile singing voice and occasionally a few friends. Frequently added into the mix are live-looping and layering techniques, combined together to make a unique and spell-binding experience we like to call Contagious Folk ‘n’ Roll.

Over the years, Fritz has shared the stage with such notable acts as Hawk Nelson, The Vespers, Raymond & Ruth McLain, The New Coon Creek Girls, Nevertheless, BlueTree, Ilia, The Afters, and 7eventh Time Down. In 2014 Fritz began touring with a full backing band, playing concerts, churches, and festivals in Tennessee, West Virginia, and his home states of Virginia and Kentucky. In 2015, Fritz hit the road again with his talented backing band, The Saucy Fellows, as well as playing a few solo shows, both featuring more instrumental songs, live-looping, and as always, the signature smile and warm enthusiasm he brings to every stage.

No matter your age or musical preference, within a few short minutes, Fritz Schindler will have your toes tapping, hands clapping, and before you know it, you’ll probably find yourself singing or dancing along…

Admission is free though a $5.00 donation is recommended.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and settle in for an evening of live performance in the park.

There is free parking in town at nearby lots including across the rails in the Commerce Street lot, behind the Pulaski Theatre, a block away at the County Administration Building and Central Gym, behind the Fire House and plenty of street parking just a block or two away.
