Description:
The 91st Newport Agricultural Fair will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026 and Saturday, August 8, 2026 on the grounds of the Newport Recreation Center in Giles County, VA.
Friday Schedule:
• 4:00-8:00 PM: Exhibit Entries
• 5:00 PM: Livestock Show
• 6:00 PM: Children's Pet Show
• 7:00 PM: Newport Pageant
• 7:00-9:00 PM: Line Dancing
• 8:00 PM: Draft Horse Pull
• 8:00 PM: Judging of Exhibits
The Newport Agricultural Fair will celebrate its 91st birthday this year making it the oldest continuous agricultural fair in the state of Virginia, blending a touch of the past with the present. Bring your family and friends and enjoy food, fun, music, vendors, free face painting, cake walk, bingo and other traditional fair activities that you won't want your family to miss!
The Newport Pageant will be held in the Community Center Auditorium featuring contestants from ages 3-18. Admission to the Newport Pageant is $3.00 for adults and $2.00 for children ages 6-11. Children under the age of 6 are free.
The Pet Show is for any child 18 & under featuring a wide variety of animals including dogs, cats, rabbits and more under a variety of categories. Prizes awarded.
Bingo from the Newport Volunteer Rescue Squad is available for both days. One card is $1.00 and three cards for $2.00. There will also be a 50/50 raffle.
There are lots of traditional agriculture fair contest categories to enter including produce, baking, sewing & fancy work, flower show, arts, crafts & hobbies and lots more that are open to all. All exhibits will be located downstairs and in the Rescue Squad Hall.
Admission to the Fair is $5.00 for adults, $4.00 for kids ages 6-11 and ages 5 & under are free. Only cash accepted at the gate.
Gate proceeds help support the Fair and local community programs. Hand stamps will be provided with paid admission.
There will be a shuttle bus running from the First Christian Church to the Newport Ball Park on Friday from 6:00 PM until midnight and Saturday from 9:00 AM until midnight. There will be limited handicap parking at the Rec Center.
In case of rain, only individual outdoor events may be affected, everything else will proceed as scheduled.
All pets entering the fairgrounds must be caged or leashed.
