Description:
The New River Valley Airport presents Warbirds and Wheels with the Capital Wing of the Commemorative Air Force on Saturday, August 15, 2026 and on Sunday, August 16, 2026.

Enjoy WWII warbird aircraft displays and airplane rides. Warbirds will include a Stinson OY-1, Japanese Fuji LM-1, and Beechcraft T-34 Mentor. Also on display will be an Aero L-39 Albatross jet and numerous general aviation aircraft.

The featured performer is the Aero L-39 "Vandy 1" acrobatic jet with planned flybys at 12:00 PM and on departure on Sunday.

Rides in the WWII Stinson can be purchased in advance for $195 at the Capital Wing website at: https://fareharbor.com/embeds/book/capitalwingcaf/items/date/2026-08-15/2026/08/?flow=1502083&full-items=yes and any flights not sold in advance can be purchased at the airport during the event. In case a raffle winner has already purchased a flight, their purchase will be refunded. Rides are also available in a Piper Cherokee 180.

Admission is free and all are welcome.
