The Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center continues their TECH talks series with "I’ve Got Friends in Low(er Airway) Places – Engineered Nanomaterials, Microplastics, and Particulate Matter from Unexpected Sources" on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 inside the VTCRC Entrepreneur Resource Center.

What’s in the air you breathe? Join the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center’s Entrepreneur Resource Center (ERC) for an engaging Tech Talk exploring the hidden risks of airborne contaminants and the innovative technologies being used to detect them.

Presented by Cary Hill, Director of Nanomaterial and Emerging Contaminant Safety at ITA International, this session will examine airborne exposure threats from engineered nanomaterials, ultrafine particulates, and microplastics that may be present in everyday environments. Learn about ITA International’s research, practical steps to reduce exposure at work and at home, and the latest technologies used to identify airborne contaminants.
