Description:
The Floyd Center for the Arts presents the 4th Annual Floyd Living Traditions Festival on Saturday, August 22, 2026.

Presented by the Floyd Center for the Arts in partnership with Handmade Music School, the award-winning Floyd Living Traditions Festival is a celebration of the music, craft, stories, and traditions that make the Blue Ridge region unique. This free, all-day event features live traditional music & dance performances on two stages, hands-on family activities, living history experiences, storytelling, exhibitions, and 70+ craft demonstrations by skilled artisans practicing basketry, blacksmithing, weaving, spinning, woodworking, quilting, chair caning, pottery, and more.

Visitors can explore a marketplace featuring 29 handmade vendors, meet artists and craftspeople, participate in community art projects, learn about regional traditions, and enjoy local food throughout the day. Festival highlights include performances on the Handmade Music School Outdoor Stage, dance workshops, interactive demonstrations, heritage exhibits, and opportunities to experience traditional arts from sheep-to-yarn fiber processing to green woodworking and storytelling.
