Description:
The Radford City Schools Partners for Excellence Foundation, Inc presents an Open House at the historic "Arnheim" house on Saturday, May 26, 2018 from 3:00-5:00 pm.
Arnheim was built in 1838 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was the home of Dr. John Blair Radford for whom the city of Radford, Virginia was named. Closed for almost 20 years, this home has been renovated and will house 21st century programs for Radford City Schools.
Fired upon by Union soldiers during The Civil War, legend has it that a single cannonball remains hidden in the foundation. Many Radford Bobcat alums will remember it as the home economics or Spanish building adjacent to Radford High School.
Light refreshments will be provided.
Admission is free and all are welcome, however donations will be accepted to support new educational experiences for our city's children.
Parking is available in front of or behind Radford High School or at the Radford Public Library where a shuttle will be provided.
Arnheim is located at 40 Dalton Drive in Radford, VA.
