Description:
The Virginia Tech School of Performing Arts presents the 20th Annual Progeny Short Film Festival on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at The Lyric Theatre.

Join us at the Lyric Theatre for a screening of short films followed by a Q&A with the directors at Theatre 101, located across the street.

The Progeny Short Film Festival aims to provide a platform for independent filmmakers and students around Southwest Virginia. Progeny seeks to uplift filmmakers producing thought-provoking content showcasing a diverse range of styles, genres, and interests. While Progeny Short Film Festival also welcomes submissions nationally and internationally as well.

Categories for this year's festival include:
• Animation
• Documentary
• Experimental
• Hokie Short
• International
• Narrative
• Social Commentary

Admission is $5.00 per person.

Doors open at 3:00 PM with live music from local jazz group Vin Noir on Henderson Lawn prior to the event.

The Lyric Theatre is located at 135 College Avenue in Blacksburg, VA.
